Ungodly Dreams and Subconscious Thoughts According to God's Word - the Bible

Some Characteristics of Ungodly Dreams and Their Punishment Under the Law from Deuteronomy 13

Although the punishment under the law for promoting dreams in the name of other gods they apply only under the time of the law which is not in the present Church Age or Age of grace although God and Jesus would still not be pleased in dreams in the name of other gods since he would consider it idolatrous and possibly also inspired by a devil or demon including familiar spirits or spirit guides. However this age is almost over and will be over with the rapture of the Church. Then the tribulation will begin, that as a time under the 70 weeks of Daniel and God dealing through Israel and not through the Church will be also as with the time between Moses and Pentecost be a time that God will deal with people on earth under the system of the Law of Moses including the severe punishment for promoting dreams in the name of other gods. The best advice I can give anybody who might be reading this that has had dreams or visions in the names of other gods including spirit guides or channelers in the New Age Movement is to confess your sins to God in Jesus name and ask Jesus to be your personal Lord and Saviour who died for your sins on the cross and rose from the dead the third day to give you new, spiritual, heavenly and eternal life.

In this scripture passage the matter in question is about a prophet or dreamer of dreams that gives a sign or a wonder which would include a remarkable dream. Furthermore the matter in question is if the sign or wonder come to pass which would include the fulfillment or realization of a remarkable dream in particular in this case concerning a dream that is made in the name of another god (other than the God of the Bible which includes Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as well as God the Father). These signs or wonders including remarkable or supernatural dreams in the name of other gods are most likely brought to the dreamers or supernaturally connected person from the devil or demons or evil spirits including familiar spirits or spirit guides or channelers through new age devotees, witches, wizards, mediums, Satanists, people in mystical non-Christian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism or tribal Shamanism or nature worship or other similiar religions. God says that anyone who hears about or is shown these signs or wonders including supernatural dreams in the name of other gods are given to prove God's people but also should not be given heed to by other people either. God allows these signs or wonders to try his people, Jews or Christians, and our faith in him although they could also be given to try other people to see if they/you are serious about seeking God and Jesus and His righteousness and salavation and turning from evil or demonic spirituality. God also in this way tests people if we will cling to him or to seek him and then cling to him by faith. God then directs that these false prophets or dreamer of dreams shall be put to death. This is certainly the case in periods under the law such as from Moses to Pentecost or in the Tribulation although God would still have them repent and turn to Him through His Son Jesus Christ and ask His forgiveness and strength to be delivered of this evil in the current Church Age that will end with the Rapture of the Church. God is angry with these false prophets or evil dreamers because their signs or wonders in the name of other gods threatens to turn his people away from Him who brought the Jewish people from Egypt and has also brought Christians (Jewish and Gentile) from the world system and the devil the god of this world. This putting to death or compeling to repentance false prophets or evil or idolatrous dreamers is to put away evil from among God's people. The scripture reference from Deuteronomy 13 about God's detesting evil or idolatrous or false prophets or dreamers and His order to put away this evil practice of theirs especially under the Law is as follows:

Scripture Reference from Deuteronomy 13 of God's Opposition to False or Idolatrous Prophets or Dreamers and His Commanded Punishment of Them Especially Under the Law

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee (you) a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou (you) hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. Deuteronomy 13:1-5

Background Information About Subconscious Thoughts from Romans 2

Although this verse is usually and can mean in part that people, especially non-Christians or Christians living in the old fallen fleshly nature, hide some sinful thoughts or feelings in their heart in a way where they know of them but other people don't I think there is another sense to this and similiar verses. Another meaning to this and similiar verses is probably that some of these secrets of the heart are thoughts or feelings that enter one's heart including one's mind subsconsciously so that the person who has these secrets of the heart is not consciously aware of them himself or herself but might be aware of them subconsciously. I think this would be an answer to people who wonder if there is anything in the Bible about the subsconsciousness or subconscious mind. (The heart in the Bible is often a collective term for the invisible parts of man the mind, spirit and soul.) Anyway the main effect is the same that even if these parts of one's mind or heart are hidden from other people whether the person having them is consciously aware of them or not, God is aware of them and people will have to give account to him when they stand before Him. Many things such as permissive or violent situations where one could get evil conscious thoughts or feelings including nowadays through the television, videos, the internet or music occur because people leave themselves open to these situations instead of avoiding tempting situations so people will still be responsible in God's sight unless they were forced or compelled into these situations. The scripture reference of the secrets of people's hearts that could include subconscious thoughts and feelings from Romans 2 is as follows:

... In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Romans 2:16

Background of Secrets of the Heart from Psalm 44

Like Romans 2 this passage talks about the secrets of men, particularly the secrets of the heart or of the mind, soul and spirit. Like Romans 2 as well this passage is probably mostly interpreted to mean the thoughts or feelings we have and are aware of but want to hide from other people. However, although that might be a substantial part of the meaning of this passage as well, I think that this verse also has an additional meaning. I think this passage also talks about the secrets that have been taken into people's minds, souls or spirits (hearts) subconsciously and are resting there subconsciously that people who have these thoughts and feelings aren't aware of themselves consciously either. As with Romans 2 these thoughts could be something displeasing to God that he would still hold us accountable to because we went or saw or heard things that were displeasing to him consciously and/or subconsciously. The idea is that even though other people might not be aware of these thoughts or feelings and can't search them out and we ourselves might not be aware of or be able to search out our own subconscious thoughts or feelings God knows them and can search them out and eventually bring us to account for them especially if we don't have them forgiven and blotted out by asking God's forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ and His shed blood for us on the cross of Calvary. The scripture reference from Psalm 44 of the secrets of the heart that could have a significant part of its meaning as subconscious thoughts is as follows:

Scripture Reference from Psalm 44 of Secrets of the Heart as Possibly Having Main Meaning as People's Subconscious Thoughts That Are Also Secret to Them

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. Psalm 44:21

God Warning the Israelites Not to Listen to False Dreamers and Other False Spiritual Teachers and Their Promise of Peace in Resistance to Nebuchadnezzar King of the Babylonians Symbolic of God's Rule in Jesus in the Church and the Rapture

In this passage, although somewhat different than the current situation where there is also hope for peace despite anxiety of God's wrath in a time of serious sin, God states that he will punish every nation that would not submit to Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon. God gave Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon authority over many nations to accomplish his sovereign purposes including over the southern kingdom of his people of Judah and Jerusalem because of their disobedience and unfaithfulness to Him. God didn't want the false prophets or false dreamers to give His people Judah to have a false hope they could escape His judgment for their immorality, idolatry and unfaithfulness to God and other sin by saying that God wouldn't judge them with his appointed ruler King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. God at this time doesn't want a similiar false hope against people escaping His rule of people in the world through trusting in Jesus and becoming part of the Church and taking part in the rapture. God warned His people Judah if they listened to their false prophet and false dreamers etc. and resisted Nebuchadnezzar in his peace God would allow him to come in judgment against Judah later symbolic of God coming in judgment in the tribulation against those including false or not born again Christians who don't trust in God's peace in Jesus in the Church and the rapture.. God then advises His people Israel then before His judgment through Nebuchadnezzar to not hearken (listen and respond according to what is said or shared by) the (false) prophets, diviners, (false) dreamers, enchanters (those who had familiar spirits or spirit guides) or sorcerers (witches or wizards or Satanists) when they urged the people of Israel's southern kingdom of Judah not to submit to the King of Babyon to live in peace. God says that their counsel is a lie, as is also the case of those tell people they will have peace in the near future even if they continue in their sin through false dreams or prophecies or revelations by spirit guides(diviners or enchantments etc.) or spells by sorcerers (witches etc.) and that they will escape God's judgment by resisting living in peace under Nebuchadnezzar then or under God and Jesus in the Church including the rapture now. Instead God says then and now that listening to the false prophets or false dreamers will result in Israel or now other people perishing. God said then that he would give peace to those nations that submit to Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon but God's counsel now is for people of all nations to live in peace with Him in the Church through Jesus and avoid His wrath in the tribulation . The scripture in Jeremiah 27 of God counselling people to live peacably under the King of Babylon instead of listening to the false prophets or false dreamers that said they could resist the King of Babylon and still have peace with parallels about God being against current false prophets or false dreamer that tell people they can resist God and Jesus and seek peace in their sins without going through the tribulation without yielding to Him is as follows:

Scripture Reference from Jeremiah 27 of God Warning His People Judah To Disregard False Dreamers and Others Counselling Them They Can Have Peace by Resisting Peace Under Nebuchadnezzar Symbolic of Disregarding God's Current Peace in the Church

And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand. Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish. But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein. Jeremiah 27:8-11
