Thursay, December 9, 2004 On Monday, December 6, 2004 The Jewish Sanhedrin, composed as required of 71 people, was sanctified by ritual washing in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee where it last met 1600 years ago and was supposed to be reestablished just before Elijah and the coming of the Jewish Messiah. This was, probably on purpose, a little publicized event but was on www.israelnationalradio.com and www.templeinstitute.org under news on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 and following days. The Sanhedrin intends to steer the laws in Israel to reflect more Jewish religious or biblical values and standards rather than the current mostly secular ones. The Sanhedrin was also able to go on top of the Temple Mount on Monday in another ceremony. They previously met there for their meetings for several hundred years including during the lifetime of the Lord Jesus Christ and the early church when it was called "the council" in the King James Version of the Bible. The Sanhedrin previously was led by the Jewish high priest which is probably the intention again in the near future. They will be active in the first half of the tribulation or 70th week of Daniel immediately after the rapture and the signing of the covenant with the Antichrist and False Prophet with the Jews to allow them to rebuild their temple and restart their animal sacifices. The Sanhedrin has more recently taken a leading role in a collection of groups upholding a Jewish state of Israel and efforts to build the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
