The Law of Moses Preached to Convict of Sin in the Church Age

Correct Purpose of the Law in the Church Age is to Preach it To Convict of Sin from 1 Timothy 1

Although some including those who call themselves Christians can make the two errors of extemes concerning the Law of Moses for this age saying it is not relevant at all because we are under grace or to say we should try to live by it for salvation even in this age on the other hand, a balanced more scriptural position for the law is given in this passage. This is how we should use the law lawfully or rightly namely to preach it to not to believers (righteous men and women) but to the unsaved especially those who have a very ungodly life, words or values. In verse 9 it makes it clear the law is especially to be preached to convict of sin towards the lawless, disobedient, ungodly and sinners. It goes on to say the law should also be used to convict of sin towards the unholy (which would include idolatry, witchcraft, astrology, consulting spirit guides or the occult in general) , profane(immoral), for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers (which would include adultery, pre-marital sex or fornication and homosexuality and lesbianism), for them that defile themselves with mankind (specifically homosexuality), for menstealers (kidnappers), for liars, for perjured persons (lying under oath), and it there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine (that is against the law but not listed in the above examples). The glorious gospel and trust in it and in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour should be the goal of all Christian evangelists not getting the unsaved to try to keep the law or do good works for salvations and eternal life. The scripture reference in 1 Timothy of the right use of the Law of Moses in the Church Age to preach it to convict of sin so people will hopefully be receptive to God's grace and love and forgiveness through trusting in the finished death for our sins of the death of the Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross is as follows:

Scripture Reference from 1 Timothy 1 of the Right Use of The Law of Moses in the Church Age to Preach it to Convict of Sins

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. 1 Timothy 1:8-11

The Law of Moses Used in the Old Testament to Convict of Sin and to Convict of Sin in the New Testament to Lead People to Trust in Jesus by Faith for Salvation from Galatians 3

As this scripture passage says the Law of Moses was added because of transgressions or sinful deeds for which specific prohibitions should be stated. These laws were to be especially in effect until the seed or the Messiah or Saviour should come. This is a reference back to Genesis 3:15 as the seed of the woman as well as to the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. The promise of the covenant refers to Jesus Christ as the Saviour and Jewish redeemer. The mediator spoken of in verse 19 in this chapter is probably Moses who under the Law acted as as mediator between God and the people of Israel. Paul says under divine inspiration that the Law is not against the promises of God because if we could keep the Law and earn righteousness, righteousness could have been earned that way and resulted in life. Then perhaps the Annointed One would be our Lord but not our Saviour as we wouldn't need a Saviour then if we could keep the righteousness of a perfect law. However the scripture of the word of God has concluded all under sin, because we also break the Law of Moses, so we can be beneficiaries of the promises through faith in the Saviour Jesus Christ. Although it is true that the earthly people of God the Israelites were under the Law until the Messiah should come as the Saviour in Jesus Christ, people in this age are also measured against the Law of Moses before we come to personal faith in Jesus Christ or throughout one's life if we don't come to faith in Jesus Christ. However this schoolmaster of the Law of Moses will bring us or keep us in a state of condemnation if we don't place our faith in Jesus Christ and we can't wait for the hope of the seed of promise now because he has already been revealed in Jesus Christ and he is the means now of partaking in the promises God gave to Eve, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob of a promised seed. However there are still other aspects of some of the covenants to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as well as Moses and David that are only for God's chosen earthly people the Jews and will be more fully realized in the 70th week of Daniel and in the Messianic Age especially regarding the Land of Israel and an earthly nation and kingdom of Israel as God's chosen earthly nation. When faith in Jesus is come on a personal basis as well for anybody Jew or Gentile (non-Jew) we are then under the seed Jesus Christ and God's rightousness through faith in him and we are no longer under the schoolmaster of the Law of Moses and its condemnation because we can't keep it all. However in the Old Testament those who kept the essence of the Law including the animal sacrifices were placing faith in the eventual seed of promise which would later be realized in the Lord Jesus Christ and His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. The scripture reference of the Law of Moses as being prepartory to the revelation of the seed of promise Jesus Christ and for the individual person in the current Church Age until we place our faith in Jesus Christ with the Law also bringing condemnation or not giving life in Galatians 3 is as follows:

The Law of Moses as Now By Itself a Ministry of Death and Before a Preparatory Measure and Schoolmaster to Lead to Fulfillment of God's Promises of Life Through Jesus Christ the Seed of Promise in Galatians 3

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Galatians 3:19-25
